| Why Lenny? |
|
Leonard Bernstein is the kind of person we need to run the United States. He was not only a music genius, but an overall good person. He shared his music genius with others through his young people's concerts, which was the inspiration for many famous musicians today. Bernstein desperately wanted world peace, and even gave a special concert celebrating freedom in Berlin a few weeks after the fall of the Berlin Wall. His nationalism and understanding in the American dream are evident through his musicals West Side Story and Wonderful Town, respectively. He knows quite a bit about history and the presidency, as demonstrated through the under-appreciated "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue". In short, Lenny loved those things that should be the foundations of society. I found a quote once that I think is very powerful. It is from a very credible source as well. The leader of the United States must have been a talented, young at heart musician. He must have written the Great American Musical, and have experience ranging from the concert hall to the jazz club. He must have been a revolutionary composer, conductor, pianist, and teacher with a good heart. That's why we need Leonard Bernstein. -Max Shinn So, what does this have to do with politics? Nothing. That's the point. According to Charles De Gaulle, "Politics is too serious a matter to be left to politicians." Now, my intention is not to insult Barack Obama. In fact, I don't mind Obama. Leonard Bernstein would be so much better, though. Bernstein for President!!! |
