Go to gnu.org or see licence.txt for details. SERVER REQUIREMENTS: -A web server (Apache recommended) -PHP CLIENT REQUIREMENTS: -A web browser with Javascript support (Firefox recommended) INSTALLATION: To install: -Upload the contents of the hablator folder to your web server (You do not have to copy the files/folders in all caps) -Change the permissions of users.txt, posts.txt, typing.txt, log.html, history.html, and settings.php to make it writable by everyone. On a Unix machine, this is done by typing "chmod 777 users.txt posts.txt typing.txt log.html history.html settings.php" in the Hablator's directory. Don't ask me how to change a file's permissions on a Windows server; I don't own nor want one. Figure it out yourself. Maybe Microsoft will help you. (If you would like to set up The Hablator by editing settings.php by hand, then you don't have to change the permissions of settings.php. If you would like to disable the logging of users and posts, you do not have to change the permissions of log.html and history.html.) -Configure it to your liking (below) CONFIGURATION: -To personalize your setup, you can choose between using the administrator interface, or editing settings.php by hand. The administrator portal is available by adding "admin.php" to the end of the directory where the Hablator is installed. The administrator interface is more convenient, but there are more detailed descriptions of the different options if you edit settings.php by hand. -The default password is "changeme" (without the quotes). -If you would like to use the bad word filter, edit badwords.txt to contain the words/phrases you would like to filter out. This filter is disabled by default, so there are a couple of demo words/phrases in the badwords.txt file to help you get started. TRANSLATIONS: The Hablator is translatable. If you speak a non-English language, you can easily translate The Hablator into your native language. To do so, make a copy of the "english.php" file. Name it whatever language you are translating to. Open the file with your favorite text editor and translate the english phrases in quotation marks to your native language. Once you have translated all of the phrases, place it in the "languages" folder. Now go into the administrator section. Here, find the "language file" option and change this to what you named your language file. OTHER: -Feature requests can be made by emailing me at script_champ@BernsteinForPresident.com or by using the feedback form on BernsteinForPresident.com. -If you have any problems, you can also email me at the above address.
